Awhile back I recounted my tumble down our staircase while holding the baby. Here is the solution we came up with, besides not walking around in socks.
I think the carpet treads are a downgrade for our wood stairs, but a definite upgrade for health and safety. You can also see the wires and pipes that stand in place of handrails in our world.
And you can see the amount of stairs in our house. I am standing on the level of Dash’s room to snap this photo. Our room is on the landing below, and the main level of the house is down the next half flight. What you can’t see is that below that is another half flight to our family room, i.e. where we spend most of our time.
So far no more spills down the stairs. Once Dash starts crawling we will have a whole new safety concern, but that project is for another day.
