I’ve heard that infants are born with the ability to make the different sounds of different languages, but start to lose that ability and only use the sounds for the languages they hear regularly. So you better start rolling your ‘r’s in front of the little one right away. Unfortunately I never could do that.
Dash seems to have developed two additional languages already so we are feeling pretty lucky. Both alternative dialects seem to involve the excess amount of drool always in his month. The first is what we call Wookie. He makes a gurgling wailing that only Chewbacca could interpret.
The second we think must be radio static. We have started playing white noise in his room during naps and nighttime and currently his predominant communication is white noise. He loves when you respond in this language.
